Built in 1925, it offers rooms with free Wi-Fi, free breakfast and free transfers to and from Kaikoura Railway Station. Nikau Lodge Bed and Breakfast is located in the heart of Kaikoura, just 3 minutes’ drive from Whale Watch Kaikoura. Kaikoura Racecourse is a 10-minute drive away. A flat-screen TV and DVD player are standard in all rooms. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities and a bathroom with bathrobes, a hairdryer and free toiletries. You can relax by the fireplace, or enjoy a cup of tea in the guest lounge. The tour desk can book local activities including swimming with dolphins, whale watching and Maori cultural tours. The breakfast buffet includes cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruits and bread. You also have a choice of a cooked option made to order, including eggs Benedict, French toast, omelettes, or bacon and eggs.
