Dating back to the 17th century, the Old Ship Inn has retained the charming features of the original building. Set in the countryside town of Mere which offers beautiful landscapes and is ideal for horse riding, clay pigeon shooting and golf. Free Wi-Fi and en suite bathrooms feature in each room at the Old Ship, as well as a flat-screen TV and DVD player. Guests also benefit from on-site free parking. Home-baked bread and beer-battered fish are served in the on-site restaurant where traditional British cuisine is available. Guests can enjoy local cider, real ales and a selection of international lagers in the 2 bars. Longleat Safari and Adventure Park in Warminster and the Gold Hill Museum in Shaftesbury are both within 10 miles of the property and offer a variety of activities suitable to both adults and children. The world-famous, prehistoric monument of Stonehenge is only 30 minutes’ drive away.
