Set within secluded grounds in an Edwardian townhouse, Linhope offers spacious rooms with a king-size bed. A breakfast of local produce can be enjoyed in the dining room, which has lovely garden views and high ceilings. Trout and salmon fishing are possible 100 metres away on the River Croquet. Furnished with both antique and modern pieces, each room also has a satellite TV, a DVD player, fluffy bathrobes and slippers. A selection of DVDs and books can be borrowed from Linhope House’s front desk. The Simonside Hills in the Northumberland National Park are within a 10-minute drive of this 5-star bed and breakfast and are popular with hikers and rock climbers. The Grade I listed Craigside country house is 5 minutes’ drive away. A choice of cereals, organic fruit, yoghurt, pastries and fresh orange juice are on the breakfast menu. Large leather armchairs feature in the lounge, which has a roaring log fire during the colder months.
