The family-run Medehamstede Hotel is set amongst spacious well-kept gardens in the coastal town of Shanklin. It is located half a mile from Shanklin Rail Station and a 5-minute walk from the beach and offers free private parking. Each room at the Medehamstede has an en suite bathroom, a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Some rooms feature views of the sea or the hotel’s gardens. Ironing facilities and alarm clocks can be borrowed from reception. The on-site restaurant offers a generous varied menu and can cater for vegetarians or those with special diets on request. There is a bar area, which offers regular entertainment, bingo and traditional pub quizzes. The Site of Special Scientific Interest, America Wood is a mile and a half from the hotel and offers guests the opportunity for a country walk in a scenic woodland location. The historic Shanklin Chine is a wooden coastal ravine, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
