With a pretty waterfront setting on the Göta Kanal, Kanalhotellet offers a free sauna, furnished gardens and a breakfast buffet each morning. Tiveden National Park is only 20 minutes’ drive and Karlsborg Fortress is a 15-minute walk. Kanalhotellet's main building dates to 1894, while bedrooms are modern and include a private bathroom and flat-screen TV. Guests have access to free Wi-Fi and rooms have views of either the gardens or the river. The hotel features a lounge area where guests will find a TV as well as newspapers, as well as a bar and a summer restaurant which can be opened on request during the winter. Karlsborg is on the shores of lake Vättern 50 minutes' drive from the town of Skövde.
