Located in the peaceful countryside of the Matjiesvlei Valley, these cottages feature panoramic views of the Swartberg Mountain from private verandas. Guests can relax in their lounge beside an open fireplace. The River View Cottages feature simple décor with bamboo ceilings. Each cottage has a private bathroom stocked with free toiletries. Guests can eat outside, on their balcony, or at the dining table in the living room. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, refrigerator and microwave. There is also a barbecue for a traditional braai. River View is part of the River Farm, Matjiesvlei, which guests can explore by bike or on foot. Fishing and canoeing are possible on the river. Free private parking is possible on site and the nearest town of Calitzdorp is 14 km away. Oudtshoorn is a 60-minute drive from the River View Cottages.

- From Cape Town, take the N1 towards Worcester;
- In Worcester take the R60 to Robertson;
- Continue along this road which will at this point become the R62;
- Travel through Ashton, Montagu, Barrydale, and Ladismith;
- 7 km before Calitzdorp, take the Matjiesvlei turn-off on your left;
- Continue for 7 km on this gravel road, passing the turn-off on your left called "Die Kom";
- At the T-intersection turn left and pass "The Old School House" on your left, "The River Farm" on your right, and the sheds on your left;
- You will see The River View Cottages up on the hill, on your left-hand side;
- If you reach the river, you have gone too far.
