Set in the malaria-free UNESCO World Heritage site, Waterberg Biosphere, Ama Amanzi is a typical African game lodge. It offers games viewing, an outdoor pool and natural ponds in the grounds. Spread across the bush, the accommodation is in apartments or thatched bungalows, each with a terrace overlooking the grounds or pool. Featuring 2 bathrooms, one outside, the apartments have a living room with sofa bed. The bungalows include 100% cotton linen and a modern bathroom. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available in the main lodge and room service can be arranged. Most of the organic vegetables, herbs and fruit are from the lodge’s garden. There is a braai barbecue area, and dinners in the bush are also on offer. The Waterberg Biosphere bush provides opportunities for hiking, cycling and birdwatching. Big Five safaris, trips to a lion breeding centre and photography classes are other possibilities. Ama Amanzi Game Lodge is around 20 minutes’ drive from Vaalwater.

- Take the N1 tollway to Polokwane.
- Leave the N1 at Kranskop Tolplaza and follow the directions to Vaalwater.
- At Vaalwater go straight ahead until you reach the Total fuel station.
- Turn right at the T-junction here.
- After 32 km turn left onto the dirt road.
- After approximately 1km you will find the gate of Ama Amanzi Game Lodge.
