At the edge of Yakushima's ancient forest, which is a Unesco World Heritage Site, Yakushima Youth Hostel features Japanese-style lodging, ocean views and free Wi-Fi. Rental trekking equipment, cars and bicycles are available. The Youth Hostel offers Japanese-style rooms, featuring a tatami (woven mat) floor and traditional futon bedding. It also provides beds in dormitory rooms with bunk beds. Bathroom facilities are shared. Youth Hostel Yakushima is completely made of wood. It houses a launderette, a shared kitchen and a lounge with a wall-mounted flat-screen TV. Guests can relax on the terrace, participate in a hiking tour, or go fishing or diving in the area.
