Set in the medieval town of Fontecchio, La Locanda del Parco is in the heart of Sirente Velino Nature Park. Built in the 1500s, this historic building has many original features, including a cosy fireplace. Croissants and homemade cakes are served for breakfast in the living room with fireplace, TV and book collection. If you'd like lunch or dinner, just ask the owner to arrange it. The owner lives on site at this family-run property. There is a terrace with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valley. Rooms have country-style décor with brick walls and terracotta and marble floors. Some have wood-beamed or frescoed ceilings. La Locanda del Parco is 200 metres from the Oasi del Capriolo Nature Park where you can observe animals in their natural habitat. L'Aquila is 30 minutes' drive away, as are the Campo Imperatore ski slopes.
