A 10-minute drive from the towns of Westport and Castlebar, this charming 5-star B&B is surrounded by gorgeous countryside and pretty lakes. There is free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. Homemade bread and jams are served for breakfast at Garden Gates, and delicious pancakes, cold meats, fresh fruit and full cooked options also feature on the menu. The striking Kylemore Abbey, on the banks of Pollacappul Lough, can be reached in less than an hour by car, and you can walk around the stunning walled Victorian gardens.

Follow the signs for Westport out of Castlebar on the N5, for approximately 8 kilometres towards Westport. Turn right at the sign for Islandeady Church. Continue on this road for one 1 kilometre, The Garden Gates is 100 metres past the church on the left hand side and is clearly signposted. It's approximately 10 minutes' drive from Castlebar.
Travelling from Westport - 9 kilometres
Follow the signs for Castlebar out of Westport on the N5, for approximately 8 kilometres towards Castlebar. You turn left about 1 kilometre past O'Gradys pub at the sign for Islandeady Church & The Garden Gates B&B. Continue on this road for one 1 kilometre, The Garden Gates is 100 metres past the church on the left hand side and is clearly signposted. It's approximately 10 minutes' drive from Westport.
