With parts dating back to 1806, the Clare Island Lighthouse is situated on high cliffs, at the most northerly point of Clare Island. This unique collection of buildings offers free Wi-Fi and evening meals. The property offers a wide range of accommodation, including rooms, cottages, and suites. Each offers an iPod docking station and tea and coffee making facilities. The en suite bathrooms have complimentary toiletries, bathrobes, and a hairdryer. Some have panoramic views of the Atlantic. In the mornings, the Clare Island Lighthouse serves full Irish breakfast, along with healthy alternatives. Guests can also enjoy 6-course seasonal evening meals. Dishes are prepared using fresh and locally sourced produce, from traditional butchers. Clare Island lies off the South Mayo coast, at the entrance to Clew Bay. With spectacular cliffs and woodland, it is ideal for hill walking. The property is just 6 km from the pier at the northern tip of the island. The Clare Island Lighthouse offers sight-seeing tours around the island. Guests can explore the ruins of Grace O’Malley’s castle and the small Cistercian Abbey.
