In the pretty fishing village of Cleggan, Harbour House is a light and cleanly decorated B&B offering free parking, free Wi-Fi, and a delicious breakfast menu. An award-winning, family-run property, it is 3 minutes’ walk from the 19th-century harbour, where ferries depart for Inishbofin Island. Elegant and bright, a room at Harbour House provides an en suite bathroom with free toiletries. Mountain and sea views can be enjoyed in some rooms, and guests can relax with a tray of tea and coffee in the room. Hearty full Irish breakfasts, made with pan-fried mushrooms and free-range eggs, are served in the morning. Guests can choose from a number of options, including porridge with local Connemara honey, pancakes and maple syrup, home baking, or scrambled egg and Irish smoked salmon. The local harbour, built by the famous Captain Alexander Nemo, provides the large amount of locally caught lobster, crab and mussels served in Cleggan’s seafood restaurant. Connemara National Park and Kylemore Abbey can be reached within 9 km.
