Rutherford House Bed and Breakfast is at the foot of the Pentland Hills, a quiet location on the edge of the Scottish Borders. Just over 20 minutes’ drive from Edinburgh, it offers country house en suite accommodation, with big comfy beds and free Wi-Fi. Each room at Rutherford House has a flat-screen TV and tea and coffee facilities. Well-appointed en suite bathrooms all have a bath with overhead shower, and beds are dressed with crisp white linens in keeping with the neutral tones of the rooms. The house has a large sitting room with leather sofas, open fireplace and views of the gardens. There is also a courtyard-style patio area. This former coach house is surrounded by extensive mature gardens and woodland, and dates back to around 1800. It’s a 5-minute drive from the village of West Linton, where there is a pub, restaurant, shops and a golf course.
