Situated by the water, Moana Lodge in Plimmerton is only 25 km from Wellington city centre, close to the city but closer to the sea. The lodge has a well-equipped kitchen and a cosy lounge area. The comfortable carpeted bedrooms include heating, bedside cabinets, lamps, artworks and electric blankets. Bathrooms are private but not en suite. Originally built as a seaside guesthouse in 1929, Moana Lodge Plimmerton has uninterrupted views to New Zealand's South Island. The Interislander Ferry Terminal and Westpac Stadium are both 20 minutes' drive away. There are cafes, shops and a railway station in Plimmerton village centre, just a 15-minute walk away along the beachfront. The regular commuter train to Wellington city centre takes 25 minutes. Facilities include covered bicycle and motorbike storage, guest laundry, plus indoor and outdoor dining areas. There is free on-street car parking nearby the lodge and limited free Wi-Fi.
