This lodge is nestled between the Drakensberg Mountains and the Blyde River. It features elegantly decorated rooms that open onto tranquil gardens, where zebra and wildebeest wander by. Located in the entrance of Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, Blyde River Canyon Lodge has air-conditioned rooms, decorated with wooden furniture. Each room has a satellite TV and an electric kettle. An English breakfast is served daily, and the guest house’s restaurant offers local dishes for lunch and dinner on request. Special diet menus are also available. Guests can relax by the outdoor pool or enjoy massage treatments. They can also choose from a variety of activities in the surrounding area, including hot air ballooning, rafting, horse riding and hiking. - Take the N12 from Johannesburg and the N4 from Pretoria, past Witbank and Middelburg towards Belfast.
- Turn onto the R540 to Dullstroom and Lydenburg.
- Take the R36 to Origstad, Strijdom Tunnel and Abel Erasmus Pass onto the R527 to Hoedspruit and turn right onto the R531 to Orpen.
- Turn right to the Adventura Swadini turn-off and travel about 6 km.
- Just before Swadini, turn right into the Blyde River Botanical Reserve and this leads to the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve.
