On the eastern edge of Vatnajökull National Park in the Icelandic Highlands is this modern hostel has hot springs and a café on-site. Laugarfell Highland Hostel is close to many areas for hiking and fishing. Snæfell Mountain can be seen from some of Laugarfell Hostel’s rooms, which are decorated simply with pine furnishings. There is a guest lounge with a fireplace, and BBQ facilities can be rented for preparing meals in the garden. Lunch packages can also be purchased on site for those spending the day out in the surrounding area. Lake Lagarfljót is 40 km away, while in the area of Laugarfell guest will find a number of waterfalls and wandering reindeer. The hostel is 44 km from Atlavík and 73 km from Egilsstadir Airport.
