Vanya, meaning "Wild" in Sanskrit, is a nature resort spread over 10 acres of giant trees and plantations. Just next to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, it has an outdoor swimming pool and free Wi-Fi. The resort is a 1 km uphill trek from the base camp of the hill. Located 2000 feet above sea level, the resort's cottages all come with a balcony, tea/coffee making facilities and a personal safe. En suite bathrooms have a shower and free toiletries. Vanya Tree House is located in Thekkady, a 10-minute walk from Thekkady Centre and Kumily Bus Station. Cochin Airport is 114 km away. Two staff at the base camp cook and deliver Kerala cuisine to guests, who can order food through an intercom. Guests can arrange day trips at the tour desk, or request for a relaxing Ayurvedic massage.
